Legal Counsel
Giacomo holds a master’s degree in law from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan and a European master’s degree in human rights and democratisation (E.MA). He also served as a teaching and research assistant in human rights law at Università Cattolica. Before joining NEC, Giacomo worked for over ten years at an international law firm based in Milan and also served as data protection officer for a software and media company. In 2016, he co-founded HRIC – Human Rights International Corner ETS – an association promoting respect for human rights. At NEC Laboratories Europe, Giacomo focuses on data protection in research and development and the implementation of the EU AI Act. He is the coordinator of the NEC Laboratories Europe AI & Human Rights Committee.
