Hiring Process

Staff Openings

The first step is to access our Career page and search our job openings.  When you find a job you would like to apply for, simply click Apply and complete our online application.  Be sure to attach your CV and cover letter.

Your application will be reviewed by the appropriate hiring team.  If your background is a good match for the position, you will be contacted for a phone interview to get to know each other, where someone from the group (or a small team) will screen your background skills.

If the phone screen goes well, you will be invited for an onsite interview and we will be happy to arrange the trip for you.  Our interviews last a full day.  You will meet with the hiring manager, NLE’s managing director, give a talk about your research, have your software skills checked and meet with members of the group.  This is an intense day, but it provides both you and us the opportunity to really get to know each other and see if we are a good fit.

After the onsite interviews are complete, the hiring team meets to review the candidates and determine who will be offered the opportunity to join NLE.  The hiring manager or a team member will be in touch with you throughout the process to keep you informed of the status.

Student Openings

An internship at NLE can open the door for your first job in the industry, be it either at NLE or with any other technology company. So, if you want to gain real work experience and jump start your career, apply for an internship at NEC.

We regularly offer voluntary or mandatory internships, mostly for a duration of 6 months.  The first step is to access our Career page and search our student openings.  When you find a position you would like to apply for, simply click Apply and complete our online application.  Be sure to attach your CV, cover letter and University transcripts.

Your application will be reviewed by the appropriate hiring team.  If your background is a good match for the opening, you will be phone screened by someone (or a small team) from the group.

After phone screens are complete, the hiring team reviews candidates and determines who will be offered an internship.
