Dr. Faqir Zarrar Yousaf

Research Coordination Officer

As a Research Coordination Officer, Zarrar serves as a liaison for NEC Corporation, Japan, facilitating seamless administrative processes and coordinating NEC Laboratories Europe’s research activities. Zarrar received his PhD from TU Dortmund, and with a tenure since 2011, he has worked as a senior researcher in the domain of 4G/5G mobile communication networks, with numerous publications and patents to his credit. Notably, Zarrar chaired the Solutions (SOL) working group within the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) Industry Specification Group (ISG). Leveraging his experience, he cultivates collaborative ventures among NEC Laboratories Europe’s research groups and external stakeholders, bolstering NEC Corporation's competitive advantage. Zarrar's commitment lies in nurturing innovation and synergy to promote NEC Laboratories Europe’s research agenda.
